Closure

The Uath Lochans car park and access road will be closed to vehicles for approximately 2 weeks from Tuesday 26th of May, for essential resurfacing works. Access will be maintained for walkers and cyclists but please follow all operational signage to stay safe during these works.

During this time the Uath Lochans trails can be accessed by following forest roads (no vehicle access) from the B970 south of Loch Insh. Some parking is also available across the public road from the car park entrance. Please note the parking at these alternative access points is very limited. Make sure not to obstruct gates or vehicle access (which is required 24h).

Visitor safety

Fires and barbecues are not permitted. If you need to cook, use a gas stove.
Please walk dogs on a short lead or close at heel from the start of April to the end of August, to protect vulnerable species.

Getting here

From Aviemore take the B9152 south to Kincraig. Turn left opposite the war memorial, signposted for Feshiebridge, and follow the road through the village and across the river to a T-junction. Turn right here (signposted for Insh) and after a little less than ½ mile (800 metres), take a left fork signed as a no through road. Follow this road for 1 mile (1.6 km) and the car park is on your right.
