Stay the Night

Looking to Stay the Night in one of our forests? Our Stay the Night scheme now runs right through the year.

This means self-contained motorhomes and campervans can stay for one night in some of our car parks.

Keep an eye out for this symbol.
This marks which forests you can Stay the Night in.

Which vehicles can stay

Stay the Night is only for vehicles that include accommodation and toilet facilities, such as:

  • self-contained motorhomes
  • campervans

Pop-up tents or toilets beside vehicles are not allowed.

Only nine participating car parks are suitable for large vehicles (over 7 metres in length and caravans). At sites that permit caravans, capacity is limited, and they take up two spaces. Check the details for specific car parks before travelling.

Please note, the Stay the Night scheme operates on a first come, first served basis.

When you can stay

You can Stay the Night throughout the year. However, there is a reduction in the number of participating car parks over winter. We may also have to make changes during the year, so always check our Stay the Night destination list for up-to-date information.

You can stay for:

  • one night only
  • between 6pm and 10am

Please note, you must not return to the same car park to stay overnight within 48 hours. We ask visitors to keep noise levels down, especially between 10pm and 7am.
