The following notices are in effect at this location.

  1. Forestry operations on site

    • From Monday 26 January there will be tree felling operations (Monday - Friday) being carried out in Castle O'er Forest. This will affect public access along forest roads in and adjacent to tree felling sites. Please follow all site signage and operator's instructions. We aim to open by the end of November 2026. A map of felling sites is displayed at Castle O'er car park.

    • Expect timber haulage and loading operations. Please do not pass timber lorries loading timber. Wait for the operator to see you and clearly signal for you to pass.

  2. Park Cycle

    The forest will be busier than usual on the following dates:

    • 27th September 2026
    • 25th October 2026
    • 28th February 2027
    • 21st March 2027

    This is due to a Park Cycle, think park run but on a bike. For more information please see the event organiser's page at Eskape Park Cycle

Ticks can carry Lyme disease, which can lead to long-term illness. Check for ticks after your visit and remove them quickly.
