Beattock Land Management Plan
Beattock Land Management Plan navigation
Beattock Land Management Plan (LMP) area covers 3672 ha of largely coniferous upland plantation forest, above the M74 corridor, northwest of the village of Beattock. It incorporates five forest blocks: Greskine, Rivox, Longbedholm, Earshaigs and Blacklaw.
It is part of Scotland’s national forests and land, owned by Scottish Ministers on behalf of the people of Scotland, and managed by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS).
You can view the existing Land Management Plan here.
We are currently revising this LMP that will define the management prescription for the next ten years (2026-36) and present a vision for the long-term management of the plan area. The plan will be developed in accordance with the requirements of the UK Forestry Standard (UKFS) and its supporting guidelines. The UKFS is the benchmark for sustainable forestry practice and the Scottish Government is committed to its use.
Have your say
It is important that the local community and external stakeholders are involved in consultation during the development of the plan. This is a requirement of the land management planning process and a good opportunity for the public to ask questions about the LMP and find out more about our work.
