Camilty Forest Land Management Plan
Camilty Forest Land Management Plan navigation
The objectives for Camilty Forest have changed significantly over the period of the previous plan. Multi-functional forestry and a greater diversity of land management practices are now more commonplace when managing the National Forest Estate.
The aim of the new Land Management Plan is to strike a balance between commercial timber production, wider environmental considerations and carbon sequestration. The plan was formally approved in March 2019 and is scheduled for renewal by 2029.

Progress update
As part of this plan’s mid-term review we have made some amendments to felling and restocking proposals with the aim of removing larch species, which are now highly susceptible to a spreading plant disease called Phytophthora ramorum. We are replacing larch primarily with native broadleaves and alternative conifers.
The updated ‘forest management’ and ‘future species and habitats’ maps are both now available in the documents and maps section of the page, labelled 'V2' (version two).
