Pause or picnic at this magnificent viewpoint overlooking a tree-clad gully. Numerous animal bones have been found at the end of the gully. Historians suspect early peoples of the area herded wild animals into the steep sided ravine. They then hurled stones and spears at them to kill them.
There is no charge to park in this car park.
The lay-by for Glen of the Bar is on the south side of the A712 (also known as The Queen's Way) between Newton Stewart and New Galloway.
