Honeymoon Bridge

Where we are

About

Situated at the base of beautiful Glen Croe, below the famous Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint, Honeymoon Bridge makes for a great start to a local adventure with easy access to the surrounding hills.

With tables and benches, it's also a perfect picnic spot to break up on the long drive from Glasgow to Argyll.

Activities

Hillwalking

One of the most popular hills in Scotland, The Cobbler (or Ben Arthur) is most commonly climbed from its eastern side, beginning at our Arrochar forest. However, the more experienced hillwalkers amongst you may enjoy the challenge of the climb from Honeymoon Bridge.

This climb is strenuous and covers a mix of steep, rocky and open ground. This one definitely needs warm, waterproof clothing, hillwalking boots, a map and a compass!

Bouldering

Glen Croe is a local bouldering hotspot. Check UK Climbing for details.

Getting here

Honeymoon Bridge lies on the north side of the A83 between Loch Long and the Rest and Be Thankful, 3½ miles west of Arrochar.

If coming from the west, the turn-off can be tricky to spot. Keep an eye out for our green sign just after a tight bend that crosses a brick-walled bridge over a river.

Using SatNav?

G83 7AS is the nearest postcode, although isn't specific to Honeymoon Bridge.

Public transport

Buses between Glasgow and Inveraray pass the entrance, although the nearest dedicated bus stop is 1 mile to the east at Ardgartan. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
